What is the burn in warranty from Samsung or Galaxus? According to rtings, qd-oleds are more prone to burnin than other oleds. This means that the lifespan of the tv can be massively lower than other oleds. Does the brand offer some additional protection in 5 or 10 years or should we buy this at our own risk?
Samsung has now reduced the brightness of the TV so much (via a software update) that burn-in should no longer be an issue. However, they have also updated away any argument for buying (my opinion).
The risk of burn-in can be reduced by watching as much different content as possible. TV channel logos or tickers are not optimal. By the way, LG OLED TVs have special functions to reduce the burning in of channel logos. You should then also use these. Since LG has many years of experience in OLED technology (even panels from 2015/2016 have no problems with burn-in), the Samsung OLED experiment would simply be too risky for me. Also, you should never completely disconnect an OLED TV from the power supply, as it can perform pixel refresh cycles when it is switched off.
