AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON
AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 Fiber XGS-PON
Does anyone have experience with Wingo. Does this work with high-speed internet via fibre, up to 10 Gbit/s upload and download?
Replace Wingo Router (10Gbs red plug) with AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 XGS-PON
it finally worked for me, yay!
Hardware
- AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 with XGS-PON SFP
- Fibre optic cable (red plug) which came with the Wingo router
Internet>Access data
- Internet provider: iWay Fiber
- Access type: iWay Fiber CH DHCP (VLAN10)
- Do not select Optical Network Termination (ONT)
Procedure
- Contact Wingo Support and find out the Net Service Number (NSN).
- Open a web browser and try to open any web page.
- You will be redirected to a Swisscom page. In my case, this was www2.swisscom.ch/splashpage...
- There you have to enter the following information
- your fibre optic box number (OTO ID),
- the position [1-4] of the cable at the fibre optic socket number (OTO ID)
- Net Service Number (NSN) (Wingo Support)
- The activation process takes a few minutes and at the end a green dot indicates that it has worked.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure that you are using the AVM FRITZ!Box 5530 as DNS server on the device you are activating. Otherwise the forwarding to the Swisscom page will not work. If you use an internal PI-Hole or Ad Guard DNS, for example, this will not work.
