The new lens offers strong optical performance and combines high image quality with attractive background blur (Bokeh effect), which can only be achieved with large aperture openings. The optical design has been specifically developed for mirrorless camera systems.
On one hand, the new lens is well-suited for portrait photography thanks to its creative background blur; on the other hand, it also allows for dynamic wide-angle shots from very close distances due to its extremely short minimum focusing distance of just 19 cm. With its relatively compact dimensions (117.8 mm) and lightweight (550 g), the zoom lens pairs well with handy mirrorless system cameras.
The 28-75mm Di III RXD features a newly developed AF system that ensures fast and precise focusing. The RXD autofocus motor (RXD = Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) not only focuses very quickly but also particularly quietly, making the lens suitable for video recording as well.
It is compatible with both full-frame models such as the Alpha 9 or Alpha 7 series, as well as cameras with APS-C sized sensors.
