Yep, comes with lens covers and sun hood.
The lens is designed for APS-C and does not fully illuminate the full-frame sensor of the A7II. But the lens can of course be mounted. By default, the A7II would switch to APS-C and then only have about 10MP. That makes little sense. The angle of view then corresponds to a 24mm lens. The Sigma 24mm Art would be more suitable. That is calculated for full format.
The lens is available for various connections.
Hi, I think so. I put it on my 6300 and I'm very happy with it.
No, it is not recommended. The sensor compatibility in the specifications is APS-C. But for an A7III you should use full-frame.
Does the message always appear or only when the distortion correction is set to Auto? If it always appears, the lens is defective. I have never seen this message with this lens. I would send it back. Always assuming that the lens is mounted correctly and the contacts are clean.
Picture angle as 24mm in APS-C mode. 16mm but with black borders in Full Frame mode
It depends on what you want to do. You can certainly photograph cars with it. But the focal length is rather at the lower end. It's a decent wide-angle with the equivalent of 24mm KB. Perhaps the 30mm Sigma would be more suitable.
The Sigma is really first class. Extremely sharp even at open aperture. I don't do astrophotography, but there are people who use it for that and seem to be satisfied. Maybe you should ask in a forum.
That's absolutely right, I tested it that way and it works. 4K corresponds to approx. 8.something megapixels, so that the sensor area in crop mode still offers sufficient resolution with around 10 megapixels.
The Alpha 6600 has not yet been delivered. In the absence of a crystal ball, it is rather difficult to make a prediction. I assume that Sigma will support all functions and solve problems via firmware updates. There is no alternative anyway. Sony offers nothing comparable.
(For the MFT variant)
Yes, she's in 🙃
Unfortunately, we do not offer the MFT version at the moment, as we do not have any information regarding delivery time etc. yet. However, as soon as we have more information, we will be happy to add it to the online shop.
You are spoilt for choice, so to speak, the Samyang lens would be more suitable for landscapes etc. because of the 12mm focal length for videos rather the Sigma because it has autofocus with the Samyang you have to focus manually. Qualitatively both are very good. If I were you, I would take the Sigma so it covers all your criteria.
With my Sony 6300 it works as soon as you work on mauelle focus. A distance indicator appears in the viewfinder. There is no stop at infinity.
hope you understand english, my france is horrible, so yes its compatible on Alpha 7 II because its also an E-Mount buuuuuttttt this 16mm is made for APSC and Alpha 7 II is an Full Frame, its mean you will lost some pixel, you will not have the full 24 Mega Pixel on your Alpha 7 II with it, hmm thinks you will have ca. the halve one. But for Alpha 6000 and 6300 and 6500 is it a perfekt match. BR Karl
