Product details
Inspired by digital technologies and scenes from video games, artist Mary-Audrey Ramirez (born 1990 in Luxembourg; lives and works in Berlin) creates immersive worlds that stem from her own inner cosmos. Her installations evoke the feeling of being in the midst of games while being viewed. She also harnesses the creative potential of artificial intelligence for this purpose. Ramirez sees this as a collaboration between human and machine, mutually supporting each other in the creative process. Connecting facts and fictions, as well as the ongoing migration of the digital into our world, are integral components of her practice. The artist's works appear as a journey into her nightly dreams. Forced Amnesia is the second extensive monograph of the artist, published in conjunction with her exhibitions at the Kunsthalle Giessen and Casino Luxembourg. Essays by Nadia Ismail, Damien Mecheri, and Ji-Hun Kim examine Ramirez's practice, accompanied by an artistic text contribution from Julia Scher.
