Properties of PLA light weight from the plastic family PLA
A material specifically developed for model aircraft construction. The bond between the layers is stable, and the foam rate and thickness can be controlled by adjusting the printing temperature. Using active foam technology to produce lightweight PLA parts with low density, the foam volume ratio is 220% and the density is only 0.54 g/cm³. The foaming process makes the layer pattern nearly invisible, and the surface of the printed product is matte. With the same model and speed, the lightweight PLA allows the model aircraft to have a lower wing loading and a lower stall speed, which can significantly enhance the performance of the model aircraft.

Additional information:
Since the ePLA-LW continuously foams in the melt chamber of the high-temperature nozzle, retraction generally does not work. Stringing during printing is normal. It is recommended to print in vase mode to reduce the effect of stringing.
The foam ratio depends on the temperature, printing speed, and the size of the melt cavity of the nozzle. Be sure to compare the wall thickness of the model design according to your own printing situation and adjust the extrusion rate, temperature, speed, and other parameters accordingly.
