They see me rollin' ... The "Kassensturz" tests rollators

For many senior citizens and people with walking difficulties, the rollator is an indispensable aid to remaining independent and mobile. It is therefore particularly worth taking a close look before making a purchase. The "Kassensturz" did just that.
Even if a rollator is not yet a topic for many people, sooner or later it can affect us all. Whether due to old age or an accident, there are times in life when a walking aid can become an indispensable support. With such an important function, the saying "trust, look, who!" is especially true for a rollator.
The SRF magazines "Kassensturz" and "Gesundheitstipp" therefore had eight rollators tested for their suitability. The most important test criteria included handling, braking ability and seating comfort. The models tested cost between 69 and 439 francs. A considerable price range.

Expensive is good
Of the eight rollators tested by "Kassensturz", only one scored "unsatisfactory". This model failed the brake test completely and continued to roll despite the parking brakes being applied. However, the experts gave it a Swiss grade of 1.5 in the safety test.
The other seven rollators obviously do a better job, especially the two most expensive models. The test winner is the "Gemino 30 D" from Sunrise Medical, the second most expensive rollator at 419 francs, followed by the most expensive model tested, the "Troja Original medium" from Topro at 439 francs.

Good to sufficient
Another two rollators receive the overall rating "good", including the "Taima M C1" from Dietz.
The remaining three models are at least "sufficient" according to the test, with overall scores between 4.7 and 4.3, including the "Rollator Eco" from Ridder, which "Kassensturz" ordered from us. It is one of the only two models to receive top marks in the entire test: Both scored a straight six in the brake safety test. Our customers also gave the Ridder model good marks, giving it 4.8 out of a possible 5 stars.
Safety always comes first
You see, you can also find rollators with us. Our range is (still) manageable, there are just under 20 different models to choose from. In first place in the shop is the rollator from Arebos, which costs much less than the two test winners.
Which rollator suits whom is a very individual decision. The only thing that helps is to test it yourself. However, you shouldn't make any compromises when it comes to safety. And test results such as those from "Kassensturz" and "Gesundheitstipp" can be very helpful here.
