Stiftung Warentest has decided: The Oral-B Genius 9000 is the test winner!
Stiftung Warentest put 10 electric brushes to the test and found four of them to be "good". You can also get the test winner series from us.
Would you like to finally buy an electric toothbrush, but have no idea how to go about choosing one? Stiftung Warentest has analysed ten models for this purpose and subjected them to an independent test procedure. The winner was the Oral-B Genius 9000.
This is how it was tested:
Ten toothbrushes were sent into the race by "Stiftung Warentest". They were tested on three factors with different weightings: tooth cleaning (60%), handling (30%) and durability and environmental properties (10%).
The first factor was the quality of the bristles.
To investigate the former, artificial teeth were coated with a coating in the laboratory. These were then brushed with an electronically controlled and standardised toothbrushing machine. It was then analysed how well the plaque was removed. The following aspects, among others, were taken into account for the handling criterion: Can the toothbrush be used to brush hard-to-reach areas? Does it come with detailed instructions in German? Is the appliance easy to clean? Is the appliance stable with and without the charging station? How long does the battery last? In order to evaluate the durability and environmental properties, two people were asked to imitate about six years of use. They were also tested for their drop resistance and power consumption.

The test winner: Oral-B Genius 9000
The Oral-B Genius 9000 series came out on top with an overall score of 1.8. It impressed with its oscillating-rotating and pulsating brush movement, the four different attachments and a wide range of accessories. In addition, the accompanying Oral-B app shows whether you have cleaned all your teeth thanks to position detection. However, the app's data transmission behaviour is subject to criticism. It sends data to Oral-B and Google to generate user profiles.

The test winner is also available in different colours and different versions in terms of accessories.
