Splashing around in the bathtub at home

My children's favourite indoor entertainment option is the bathtub. It's cosy and warm and offers endless water fun with the right bathtub toys. I'll help you choose the right ones so that your bathtub becomes an adventure too.
For me and my children, the bathtub at home is the very best indoor entertainment option. Because with great bathtub toys, splashing around never gets boring. Although I always try to keep the toys in moderation, when it comes to bath toys, more is more. In the meantime, some moulds, boats and stacking cups have ended up in the bath that actually belong in the sandpit or in the nursery. It doesn't matter, because as long as it doesn't break and stimulates the child's imagination, any toy is fine with me.
Playing with a learning side effect
Depending on the choice of toy, your child can learn something in addition to bathing. The best example of this are the bath letters. If you stick the ABCs on the bath with your child and sing the cute ABC song, they'll be singing along in no time. Maybe not quite right, but it's already anchored in the ear. Picture books, puzzles, number sequences or animals with an integrated musical scale and music are other great toy ideas that encourage learning in the bath. Thanks to a colourful selection, the colours are also quickly memorised.

Plashing with wet little animals
Children love animals in any form. So they should never be missing from the bath. It's a good idea to choose an animal motif that can do something other than just look cuddly. I'm thinking, for example, of buckets, water games or animals that can splash, whistle, swim or soak up water. The octopus called Tinti, which we can throw the rings over the tentacles, has now become our friend and accompanies us on every swimming adventure.

Plashing with surprising effects
Coloured, crackling or glittering water? An art painting on the edge of the bathtub? That's mega! These gadgets make for a special experience, even for me, because we didn't have them in my childhood. Well, blood-red bath water isn't everyone's cup of tea and scared me at first, but it was still fun. What a difference a little colour in the water can make. These items are great for in-between times, but I don't think they should always be available. Otherwise they quickly lose their appeal. To be honest, I can't really judge the environmental and skin compatibility either.

Alternatively, you can create glowing effects in the water. Be it with a special underwater light or in the form of glowing animals. If you also switch off the bathroom light, you can create a new, cosy atmosphere that your child has never experienced before.
Planning with the classics
In addition to the classic duck, (sub)boats are also part of the basic equipment. Because although thousands of them can be found in bathrooms, they never get boring. They are constantly evolving and therefore do not lose children's interest. There is also a suitable product for every age of child.

Planning with eventful hair washing
At the latest when food residue sticks to the hair or the grease in the hair becomes visible, my children also have to put up with it: washing their hair. Fidgeting and moaning doesn't make it any better. On the contrary, because the water runs even more into the eyes and screaming is inevitable. In this case, the following products can help.

While I'm washing my little ones' hair, I like to distract them with other toys. With the variety of toys in our bathtub, there's always something they haven't used yet. Or I put something aside in advance. From my own experience, I recommend washing their hair at the start of the bath. Because when the little ones have had enough, they want to get out of the bath - greasy and sticky hair or not.
Washing with my personal discovery
These three items surprised me personally the most. I had never seen or tried them before today, but I believe that they can provide your child with great and, above all, recurring water fun. I ordered the Oogi straight away and it's already on its way to us.
The right organiser for all your paddling equipment
After a swim, the bathroom is a mess. To counteract this, it's worth storing all the equipment neatly, but still within easy reach. You can use child-friendly organisers for this purpose. Not only are they cute, but they can also be used by your child during their next bathing adventure.

So, now I wish you a great and adventurous splashing experience in the bathtub at home. And remember: more is more. Follow me if you don't want to miss any tips, tricks and topics relating to babies and toddlers. Just press the black button on my profile. I look forward to your plan.
