My August beauty favourites

At Galaxus, you’ll find over 80,000 beauty products. And counting. That’s quite a lot. Each month, I share my favourites from this pool of new launches and established classics.
Ranging from a solid face cream to a decadent designer soap, my August favourites are totally dedicated to skincare. Here are the beauty products that won me over this month.
Smoothing cleanser by CeraVe
CeraVe products are regularly sold out. The brand has skincare professionals such as Hyram to thank for this, who share their favourite products with their followers on social media. The smoothing cleansing gel with salicylic acid gets a lot of love from beauty gurus. The reason: it has a mild but effective formula against dry skin.
I’m also a fan of this fragrance-free cleanser with a pump dispenser. The salicylic acid gently exfoliates my skin without drying it out. Simply apply it to your damp face after removing your make-up, massage it in thoroughly and rinse it off. It also helps me keep small pimples and blemishes at bay. However, it’s definitely not a miracle cure, as the product is often said to be.

Solid day cream by Balade en Provence
Solid shampoos have entered the mainstream, but solid facial care products are still the exception. The day cream by the brand Balade en Provence not only saves packaging material, but also leaves your skin feeling buttery soft. Upon contact with warm skin, the rich cream melts and can be massaged in with your fingers. The product is 100% natural, vegan, certified organic and handmade in France. Despite the essential oil (caution: allergy potential!) from the immortelle flower contained in it, the «Solid Day Cream» has a subtle smell. To keep it from getting dusty, I leave it in its cardboard packaging. It’s a little more cumbersome than a jar for everyday use, but totally doable.

Natural soap by Soeder*
I’ve been experimenting with my soaps lately in the hope that that I don’t get bored by the excessive hand-washing. So far, this is working out moderately well. Nevertheless, I’m using the circumstances as an opportunity to test as many products as possible in the hand soap range. Admittedly, there are no really big differences – except for the scent. But if there was ever a time for me to justify buying expensive soap, it’s now.
While my wallet reminisces about the inexpensive multipack refill bags, «Herbal Garden» by Soeder* now adorns my bathroom. The hand and body soap by the Zurich manufacturer consists of 100% natural ingredients such as organic cold-pressed oils. Compared to conventional soaps, it lasts longer and smells so intensely of herbs that you can save your room the reed diffuser by washing your hands regularly. So, it’s not for the faint of heart. The brown glass bottle is also available in a limited-edition Galaxus design and can be refilled as needed at Soeder* stores.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
