If you’ve discovered Galaxus’s trendiest candles, you’re well on your way to being an interior design buff
Just when you thought you’d seen every possible type of candle, these new designs pop up. Here are seven of the most contemporary candle styles in the Galaxus range.
Sure, a trusty Ikea tea light will do the job. But if you want to take your home decor to the next level, candles can serve as interior design pieces in their own right. Even if you never light them. With this in mind, I’ve put together a list of candles that’ll make you think twice about whipping out the matches.
1. Striped candles
Candles might eventually burn away, but some trends really stand the test of time. We’re once again seeing striped candles hit the shelves. These days, they’re more unusual, sometimes multicoloured and available with both vertical and horizontal stripes.

2. Back to black
Black is back in fashion, with the colour often being used to highlight parts of an outfit or elevate the look as a whole. In interior design, however, the comeback has been more subdued. The colour has its disadvantages; black furniture can make rooms look smaller and darker. However, you don’t need to worry about that with black candles. These can be used to set accents in a room, going well with both minimalist interiors and eye-catching home accessories.
3. Futuristic shapes
Candles that look like they’ve been taken from a 3D render are becoming increasingly popular. Characterised by optical illusions, geometric patterns and sculptural effects, these candles give rooms a futuristic vibe. Arti Casa’s Square Lines candle, for example, is designed to suggest depth and structure.
4. Rainbow colours
Rainbow patterns are all the rage. They bring vibrancy to a room, can be combined in a variety of ways, allow you to express your creativity, are attention-grabbing and symbolise inclusivity. This considered, it’s not surprising that the pattern has crept into candle design.
5. Colour blocking
Brightly coloured candles have the edge on white ones this year too. Colours are deliberately combined, even if they clash. Fidea’s Vienna stick candle set mixes rich and pastel shades to create an eye-catching effect, highlighting the candles’ twisted shapes.
6. Grooves
Since last year, there’s been a lot of attention on taper and pillar candles sporting grooves reminiscent of Greek pillars. Offering a welcome change from smooth wax surfaces, they create additional visual depth through the interplay of light and shadow.
7. Dappled holders
When it comes to candle jars and holders, unique, nature-inspired patterns are trendy at the moment. A speckled glaze gives each piece a handcrafted look. The pattern conceals imperfections and suits various interior styles. This Paddywax candle, the Nashville Cowboy Boot, impresses with its speckled pattern and a scent reminiscent of the Wild West. And the best part? If you do decide to burn the candle, you can use its patterned holder for stationery or as a vase to give your home some natural charm.
