Fashion words: Blokecore is the latest symbiosis of sport and fashion
There are a few terms circulating in the fashion world whose meaning is anything but obvious. For example, what is the blokecore trend that everyone is talking about right now? Find out here.
It's happened again. The fashion world has copied - from sport. After the self-explanatory golfcore, tenniscore and skatecore trends, everyone seems to want one thing this time: Blokecore. For once, this name is not quite so obvious, so I'll start from the beginning.
Bloke is, how could it be otherwise, English and means something like bloke, bloke or bloke. And what does a cliché (English) bloke particularly like? Football, of course. This is where fashion takes its cue from jerseys and shoes with a sporty background such as the Adidas Samba.
Of course, the football jersey and everyday wear look is nothing new. Anyone who loves their club has always worn it proudly on their chest, even away from the stadium. What is new, however, is that this combination has overcome the prejudice of being "pretentious" and can now call itself "trendy" instead. And yes, I can imagine that the die-hard football fans who wear shirts out of genuine love for the club are now slapping their hands to their foreheads and getting annoyed at the (literal) "fashionistas".
By the way, fashion fans are not only to be found among Blokes, i.e. men. Anyone and everyone throws themselves into the jersey for this hype - with or without prior knowledge of the club and sport. After all, just like fashion, sport is for everyone. Perhaps the main reason why the trend is so popular.
