8 Hair straighteners tested by Kasstensturz

Kassensturz has pitted the 8 best-selling hair straighteners in Switzerland against each other. The résumé? The most expensive model wins, but cheaper models are hot on its heels.
A straightening iron can now be found in almost every household. It is often used not only to straighten hair, but also to conjure up bounce and curls in the mop of hair. Kassensturz had ten test subjects put various models through their paces. In the practical test, the hair was both stretched and curled. The handling, the time required and the final result were assessed. The following questions were answered, among others: Do the heating plates glide through the hair without any problems? Does the mane become statically charged? Can the temperature be regulated manually? The temperature and temperature distribution were then assessed in the laboratory test.
Place 1
Test winner with a score of 5.1 "good"
First place went to the most expensive model in the test series: the "Gold Max Styler" from ghd. It impressed the test subjects with its broadly designed plates, ease of use and shiny hair. The product is said to be particularly beneficial for long and thick hair. Minus points were awarded for the temperature, which cannot be regulated manually.

Place 2
Grade 5 "good"
The second-placed model is called the "Satin Hair 7 ST 710" and comes from Braun. It is much cheaper than the first-placed model and is almost as good as it. The advantage here: manual temperature control.
Place 3
Score 4.8 "good"
In third place, together with three other models, was the "HP 8372" from Philips. It is user-friendly, but takes a long time to straighten. You can find the successor model here:
Also in third place: the "S 8598 Keratin Protect" from Remington. In the laboratory test, the appliance was penalised for reaching too high a temperature. This can lead to heat damage. However, the temperature can be regulated manually.
The "ST 450 E" from Babyliss also came third. It scores points with its design: The rounded plates are suitable for styling curls. However, the appliance takes a long time to straighten.
The "KHS 3310 Hair Straightener" from Koenic, which we don't have in our range, is on the same winner's podium. It would be the cheapest model and the winner in terms of value for money.
Place 4
Score 4.6 "sufficient"
The penultimate place was taken by the "Straight Hair Straightener 230" from Mio Star, which we do not carry in our range .
Place 5
Grade 4.3 "sufficient"
The "Liss 2" from Satrap, which we do not carry in our range, brings up the rear.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
