Dinkum
The unusual name Dinkum Systems came about in 2009, during an intensive 100-day shoot John Mans spent on a ship in the Southern Ocean. The extremely useful lens hoods and mounts John had on board became known as "Dinkums". Under difficult and often dangerous shooting conditions, the nickname stuck and when John was back on land, he adopted Dinkum Systems as the new company name.
The transition from using standard components to the purpose-built and engineered products available today brought significant design improvements.
Years of field use have allowed Dinkum to test the entire range and incorporate more than 20 years of experience into improving the products. The full market launch of the complete product line took place in March 2012.
